About the
Partners
Marie L.
Kellogg
Marie comes to the firm from the New England
area. Her previous venture was with Superior Learning Systems,
as the Corporate Controller. The firm operated 35 independent
business centers in three states. Marie coordinated the
transition of corporate headquarters and the re-consolidation
of the accounting function to the New England
headquarters.
Marie's
accounting experience began in the boating industry with Big
Bee Boats, Inc. in Selbyville, Delaware, as a bookkeeper and
office manager, moving on to Comptroller positions. She has
transitioned through the accounting field in various
management positions. In all these positions, she has been
responsible for developing, implementing and managing new and
revised fiscal policies, procedures and standards. She
also established effective internal controls to ensure
accuracy and reliability of fiscal
records.
Marie holds a
Bachelor of Science from Salem State College, Salem, Mass.
Marie is a member of the National Society of Tax Preparers,
and the Maryland Society of Accountants. She is the secretary
of the Perry Hall White Marsh Business Association, and of the
Chesapeake Leads Group. She is also a certified
educator.
John F. Izzo
John most recently has been the Director of Budget and Administrative Services
for the State of Maryland's Department of Business and
Economic Development Division of Regional Development. In this
role, he has been responsible for the planning, organizing,
formulating, coordinating and evaluating the delivery of
financial and administrative services, ensuring the division's
goals have been met in accordance with the policies and
government regulations. This has included overseeing the
division's budget development, fiscal management and
reporting, human resources and facilities
management.
John is the former Chief Financial Officer
of Superior Learning Systems, of West Springfield, MA and
Baltimore, MD. In this capacity he managed overall financial
operations for a $12 Million business in a turnaround
situation which involved re-establishing policies and
procedures. He also served as the Corporate Controller for
Atlantic Premium Brands of Northbrook, IL, where he lead a
financial team responsible for $200 Million in annual sales.
John was the Corporate Controller for the Maryland Beverage
Company where he planned, organized, coordinated
administrative and financial activities for a $25 Million
operation, while the company transitioned from sole
proprietorship to partnership to public company.
John
holds a Bachelor of Science from Towson State University and
is a Certified Public Accountant with the State of
Maryland.
